This is a heavily textured multi medium artwork that was inspired by flax weaving and NZ summer. I used a lot of different contrasting textures and a board mount on the back to create a large contemporary artwork that sits 2cm out from the wall to give it a shadow floating effect. The pattern is hand painted with specs of gold detail that catches the light and small pieces of wood meticulously cut, etched and sanded to piece together to create a woven effect.
