This is a heavily textured multi medium artwork that was inspired by flax weaving and the iconic NZ Kowhai Tree. I used a lot of different contrasting textures and a board mount on the back to create a large contemporary artwork that sits 2cm out from the wall to give it a shadow floating effect. The pattern is hand painted with specs of silver detail that catches the light and small pieces of wood have been cut, etched and sanded to piece together to create a woven effect. I hope you like this artwork as much as I enjoyed creating it.
